Severe storm or two possible Friday

The Storm Prediction Center has the area under a slight risk for severe weather Friday, August 21, 2026.

After an early morning pass of some non severe showers this morning, we’ll see a couple hours with no rain before a front passes through Friday afternoon, sparking off a line of possibly strong to severe storms along a line from the Green Bay area to the southwest part of the state.

This would put the Fond du Lac area at risk for being in the area where these storms form.

While upper level wind dynamics aren’t particularly conducive of tornado development, they aren’t non existent either, so a brief tornado or two would not be out of the question. Especially if any outflow boundaries get laid out from this morning’s rainfall.

The primary threat from this afternoons storms however will be gusty winds and some small hail.

Storms look to form in the 4-6 p.m. time frame, and should be moved out of the area around 8, but a couple stray showers could also hang around.
