Severe Weather Moves Through Area

Severe Weather moved through the area late yesterday morning with high winds and heavy rains. Dodge County Emergency Management officials are working with the National Weather Service to determine what type of wind event caused damage in the Town of Hustisford shortly after 10 a.m. A number of trees were blown down as severe storms moved through the area. They also received reports of significant damage to habitable structures. The damage was restricted to cattle sheds, garages, and storage sheds. Washington County Sheriff’s officials say a storm that moved the county about a half hour later caused similar damage removing a portion of the roof of a home in Allenton. A silo was collapsed on a barn housing cattle on Wescott Road killing 10 to 15 cows. Two farms in the Town of Farmington reported severe damage. Also a farm on State Road 28 lost part of its roof and suffered damage to its out buildings. One cow was killed on that farm.
