Severe weather passes through Sunday afternoon – More possible Monday night
Severe weather went through the area Sunday, May 16, 2026.
While parts of Fond du Lac County were under a severe thunderstorm warning, it was just east of us that received moderate damage.
Between 2 and 3 p.m., several barns in Calumet and Manitowoc County sustained damage from wind, as well as several trees being blown over.
The storms were part of a large, slow moving low pressure storm system to our southwest that spawned several large and damaging tornadoes from central Kansas up to southern Minnesota.
The same system is forecast to again cause severe weather Monday in many of the same areas including another tornado outbreak being possible for the same area that saw tornadoes Sunday.
Eastern Wisconsin is likely to see scattered showers and storms Monday but a better chance for strong storms will come overnight as a line of storms is forecast to come through after midnight.
