Sex Assault Charges By Youth Leader Reported To Clergy Abuse Hotline

Charges of sexual assault have been brought forward against a Wisconsin Rapids man for an incident at a Bible Camp.

Remington Nystrom is accused of inappropriately touching a sleeping ten-year-old at the Mount Morris Camp in 2009- an incident that the victim was afraid to report until recently thanks to the state’s tip line for survivors of clergy or faith leader abuse. the 33-year-old was arrested earlier this week, formal charges of sexual assault of a person under the age of 13 are pending.

Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul continues to encourage anyone who may have been a victim of such acts by faith leaders to reach out through the website set up by the department of justice.
