Shawano man arrested for drugs in Fond du Lac County

A 44 year old Shawano man was pulled over by a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy Wednesday night on I-41 near Winnebago Street for an equipment violation. Because the deputy was suspicious of the mans actions, A police K9 was brought in to do an open air sniff around the vehicle. The K9 responded positive for drugs in the vehicle and a search netted a significant amount of a white powdery substance that later tested positive for cocaine. There was also a smaller amount of marijuana and multiple boxes of ammunition that were located in the vehicle as well. The suspect, who has a prior drug conviction on his criminal history, was arrested and booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail on drug related charges.
