Small Business Saturday Proclamation

Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership representatives were presented with a proclamation at last week’s Fond du Lac City Council meeting proclaiming Saturday, November 25th as “Small Business Saturday” in the City. City Council President Karyn Merkel presented the proclamation. Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership Executive Director Amy Hansen told the gathering the majority of businesses in the downtown are small businesses. She says there are 284 businesses and 76 percent of them are small locally owned businesses. Small Business Saturday is an effort that encourages shoppers to support small businesses by doing their Christmas shopping in their shops and stores.
