Small Turnout Expected For Tuesday Election
Fond du Lac County Clerk Lisa Freiberg isn’t expecting many people to go to the polls for the Primary Election tomorrow. There are three candidates vying for State Superintendent of Schools, which voters across the County can vote on. Otherwise the only races are for Taycheedah Town Board Chair, Town of Osceola Clerk, and the Ripon School Board. Freiberg says the last time there was a February primary for State Superintendent there wasn’t a very good turnout. She says only about 4 to 6 percent of County voters turned out for that election. She says because there is a circus at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds those voting at the Fairgrounds will be using the Expo Center. Freiberg says if 5,000 to 6,000 voters cast their ballots in the County tomorrow that would be lucky. She says 8 percent of registered voters in the County would amount to 5,000 voters.
