Southwest Airline’s “Independence One” to make a one day only appearance at EAA AirVenture
Oshkosh’s EAA AirVenture continues to stack up patriotic related attractions for this year’s fly in, and the newest addition will be the Southwest Airlines tribute to the United States semiquincentennial, Independence One. A specially designed Boeing 737 featuring a patriotic red, white, and blue paint job with the year 1776, and the phrase, Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, painted on the side.
The jet entered service on April 29, 2026, with an inaugural flight from Dallas, Texas, to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The jet will make it’s presence at AirVenture on Boeing Plaza for one day only on Wednesday, July 22.
Visitors of EAA AirVenture will get to see Independence One up close and personal as it carries Southwest Airlines employees who have served in the military and those with loved ones who have served, culminating in an impressive total of over 1,300 years of military service onboard.
EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, the 73rd Experimental Aircraft Association fly-in convention, is July 20-26 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh.
