Southwest Wisconsin Measles outbreak update
Wisconsin health officials have updated the number of measles cases connected to an outbreak in southwestern Wisconsin.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services now reports 41 confirmed cases and seven probable cases in Grant, Iowa and Lafayette counties.
Iowa County has 35 confirmed cases, while Lafayette County has four confirmed and seven probable cases. Grant County has two confirmed cases.
Health officials say no public exposures have been reported.
The MMR vaccine remains the best protection against measles. People who are unsure of their vaccination status are encouraged to check the Wisconsin Immunization Registry or contact their health care provider or local health department.
