The Wisconsin Badgers may have a new head coach. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Pitt head coach Paul Chryst is poised to take the job. Chryst was 19-19 in three seasons with the Panthers. Before getting the head job at Pitt he was the offensive coordinator at Wisconsin and is a state native.
Badger running back Melvin Gordon was named college football’s best running back on Thursday night by winning the Doak Walker Award. He was also named to the Walter Camp All-American Team. Gordon is a finalist for the Heisman Trophy which will be awarded on Saturday night.
Wisconsin Athletic Director Barry Alvarez announced on
Thursday that he would coach the team in the Outback Bowl against
earlier this week. Alvarez also stepped
in and coached the Badgers two years ago in the Rose Bowl when Brett Bielema
moved on to
presented by Fondy Junior Football.

The Packers continue to get ready for a trip to
quarterback as three of the top 12 sack leaders in the NFL. Coverage begins at 10am on Sunday with the
kickoff set for Noon.
Conner Blank had the hat trick and four points as St. Mary’s
Springs won the inaugural Sturgeon Cup with a 4-1 win over
du Lac
Mitchell Grebe had a goal a three assists as well for St. Mary’s
Springs. Noah Wilson scored Fondy’s
loan goal in the 2nd period.
St. Mary’s Springs and Fondy both hit the road on Saturday. The Ledgers go to Cedarburg while Fondy
travels to U-School. The Sturgeon Trophy
will be awarded each year to the winner of the regular season matchup between
the cross-town rivals.

The
boys basketball team hosts Oshkosh North tonight at the Acuity Fieldhouse. It’s the home opener for Fondy who is looking
for their first win of the season after road losses at Menasha and Oshkosh
West. Oshkosh North is 2-1 after
dropping their FVA opener at Kimberly last week. The Spartans feature the state’s #1 ranked
sophomore player in guard Phillip Flory.
Coverage begins at 7:05pm with the Tim Cruz Agency American Family
