Packers Ready for Rematch

For the third time in a month, the Green Bay Packers will be taking the field against the Minnesota Vikings although this time there is a lot more at stake. Saturday’s NFC Wild Card matchup will be one in which Green Bay looks to get revenge for a loss to the Vikings that came just five days ago, a loss that cost the Packers the second seed and a bye in the NFC playoffs. But many Packers say they’re anticipating round three in this series, and that they are glad it’s coming at home. “Being able to get back on the field this week is good for our team, especially coming off a loss,” said offensive lineman TJ Lang. “If we had to sit around for two weeks with a loss, you tend to overthink some things. There’s no better way to rebound from a tough loss than to hit the field the very next week. I think it will be good for our team. You can tell there’s a definite sense of urgency with the guys this week.”

The Packers host the Vikings on Saturday night on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ. Coverage kicks off at 5pm with the kickoff itself at 7pm. If you or your business is interested in advertising during the game tomorrow, contact Dawn Mueller-Stacey today at 920-921-1071 or

Alcohol Sales Cut Off

Alcohol sales will stop at the beginning of the third quarter of the Packers-Vikings playoff game. It’s the first time alcohol sales at the stadium were cut off so soon after halftime. Typically, alcohol sales are cut off at the end of the third quarter, but because of the circumstances of the game, the rivalry and the lateness of the game, sales will end early.

Men’s Basketball

Ryan Evans, Jared Berggren, and Ben Brust all lead the Badgers with 13 points a piece as Wisconsin sneaked past Penn State 60-51 at the Kohl Center on Thursday night. Mike Bruesewitz added 12 points and 8 rebounds. The Badgers improve to 10-4 on the season after winning their Big Ten opener. They’ll next travel to Nebraska for a 3:30pm game this Sunday.
