The Badgers have made it
official, hiring Greg Gard as their men’s basketball coach.   Gard took over on an interim basis for Bo
Ryan when he abruptly retired in December. 
Gard’s Badgers have gone 11-2 over their last 13 games and finished tied
for 3rd in the Big Ten.  The
Badger will open up Big Ten Tournament play on Thursday night against the
winner of Wednesday’s Nebraska-Rutgers game.

UW-Green Bay will be
playing for a bid in the NCAA Tournament tonight in Detroit
The Phoenix
knockout out #1 seed Valparaiso 99-92 in overtime in the Horizon League
Tournament Semifinals on Monday. The Phoenix
will play Wright State tonight for a ticket to the Big
Dance.

 

The Chicago Bulls took down
the Bucks 100-90 on Monday night in the Windy City.  Jabari Parker had 18 points and 11 rebounds
in the loss.  The Bucks host Miami on Wednesday

The Bucks have lost guard
Michael Carter-Williams for the season. 
The team says will undergo surgery on Thursday to repair the torn labrum
in his left hip.

 

The Brewers lost for the 1st
time in Spring Training on Monday, falling to the Padres 8-2.  Ramon Flores had two of the Brewers six hits.  Taylor Jungmann have up 2 hits, 1 run, and
walked a pair in 1 and 1/3 innings of work. 
The Brewers play the White Sox today.

 

Reports say the Philadelphia
Eagles are going to trade running back DeMarco Murray to the Tennessee
after one disappointing season in the City of Brotherly Love.

 

Tennis star Maria Sharapova announced
on Monday that she failed a drug test at the Australian Open in January.  She will face a suspension.   Nike has already put her $70 million dollar
endorsement deal on hold.

 

The Marian baseball team
scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the 9th to edge Wheaton,
Illinois 6-5 in Tucson, Arizona
on Monday.  The win improves the Sabre to
4-2 on their trip. They take today off and then take the field for a
doubleheader with Simpson on Wednesday.

 

The Marian
University softball team picked up a
pair of wins on Monday in Fort Myers,
Florida
.  The Sabres beat Albion 8-0 and Bridgewater State 9-6.   Tony Draves’ squad sits at 6-4. They will
take today off before playing a pair of games on Wednesday in Florida
