The Denver Broncos won Super Bowl 50 with a
24-10 upset over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday night in the
area. The
offense was only able to muster 194 yards of total offense but the defense
dominated Cam Newton and the Panthers.
Super Bowl MVP Von Miller had 2.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles in the
game. Payton Manning threw for just 141
yards and had in an interception in what might be has last NFL game. He told reporters after the game he would
wait to make a decision.
Packers
quarterback Brett Favre was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on
Saturday night. Favre is joined by
Marvin Harrison, Orlando Pace, Kevin
Greene, Tony Dungy, Ken Stabler, Dick
Stanfel, and former 49ers owner Eddie DeBartolo, Junior.
With Favre
going into the Hall of Fame this summer, various reports say that the Packers
will be one of the team’s in the annual Hall of Fame Game in
which kicks off the preseason schedule.
Hideki
Matsuyama won The Waste Management Phoenix Open in a playoff over Rickie Fowler
on Sunday. Fowler hit two balls in the
water on the 17th to give
the win.
