Packers Win

Mission accomplished for the Green Bay Packers.  Mike McCarthy’s team won their 4th straight game 31-17 over the Arizona Cardinals at Lambeau Field on Sunday.  Aaron Rodgers completed just 14 of 30 passes but for 218 yards.  He did have 4 TDs with on INT.  Randall Cobb caught two of those TDs.  James Jones had a spectacular TD catch and Tom Crabtree added a 72 yard TD catch on the last play of the 3rd quarter.  The Packers run game also got going as James Starks ran for 61 yards and Alex Green 53 in the win.  The victory gives the Packers a 6-3 record heading into the Bye week.  They will next be on the field on November 18th when they travel to Detroit.

Packer Injuries

The injury bug bit the Packers again on Sunday.  After missing time with a hamstring injury, Jordy Nelson left the game early with a foot sprain.  RT Brian Bulaga injured his hip and did not return.  TJ Lange moved to right tackle and Evan Dieterich-Smith came in at left guard.  Linebacker Clay Matthews left the game with a hamstring injury and did not return.  He’ll be evaluated today.  The players will be off Tuesday and won’t be expected back to work until next Monday.  Talk Packer football tonight from 6pm to 7pm on KFIZ during In The Huddle with Bill Scott and Packer tight end DJ Williams

NFL Voids Payton Contract

Sources reported on Sunday that the NFL has voided the contract extension that suspended Saints head coach Sean Payton signed with New Orelans in 2011.  Payton is suspended the entire season for his alleged failure to stop the Saints bounty program in which players were allegedly paid for big hits or injuring players on opposing teams.  That means Payton could be a coaching free agent next offseason.
