Packers Win

The Green Bay Packers won their second straight game for the first time this year with a 30-20 win over the St. Louis Rams.  Aaron Rodgers was spectacular completing 30 of 37 yards for 337 yards and 3 TDs.  Two of those scores went to Randall Cobb..  Jordy Nelson had another big day, catching 9 passes for 122 yards and a touchdown.  The win improves the Packers to 4-3 on the season.  They host the Jacksonville Jaguars next Sunday at Lambeau.

 

Badgers Back In Rankings

The Wisconsin Badgers 38-10 win over Minnesota on Saturday pushed them back into the national rankings.  Bucky is #25 in this week’s BCS Rankings and also #25 in the Coaches Poll.  The Badgers host Michigan State next Saturday.  You’ll hear the game on KFIZ.  Kickoff is set for 2:30pm.

 

Giants Force Game 7

The San Francisco Giants forced a Game 7 in the National League Championship Series with a 6-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday.  Matt Cain will start tonight for the Giants while Kyle Lohse gets the nod tonight for St. Louis

 

Kenseth Wins

Wisconsin native Matt Kenseth won the NASCAR Sprint Cup race in Kansas City on Sunday.  Brad Keselowski still leads the points standings.  Jimmie Johnson is 2nd, 7 points behind.   Denny Hamlin is 3rd. 20 points behind Keselowski. 

 

Vikings Soccer Heading To State

The WLA boys soccer team earned a trip to the Division 3 State Soccer Tournament with a 2-1 win over Green Bay NEW Lutheran on Saturday night.  The Vikings will play LaCrosse Aquinas on Friday morning at 9am in a D3 State Semifinal.

 

Waupun & WLA Earn Trips to State Cross Country

The Waupun and WLA boys cross country teams earned a trip to the state cross country meet over the weekend.  Waupun finished first and WLA 2nd in the Ripon Sectional.  WLA’s Mitch Bilitz won the event.

 

WIAA Football Playoffs

St. Mary’s Springs and Laconia both advanced to the 2nd round of the WIAA football playoffs with wins last Friday night.  The Ledgers will host Manawa on Saturday night at 7pm in their 2nd round game at Fruth Field.  In D5 Laconia will travel to Racine St. Catherine’s.  We haven’t been relayed kickoff time for that one yet.

 

Waupun Wins Volleyball Regional
Waupun won their Division Two Volleyball Regional with a 3-0 win over Campbellsport on Saturday.  The Warriors will play Kettle Moraine Lutheran on Thursday at Campbellsport in a D2 Sectional Semifinal.
