The Brewers suffered a tough lost yesterday as the Pirates rolled over them by a score of 15 to 5. The loss handed Kyle Lohse his first loss since April 1st. The score was 5 to 2 heading into the sixth inning; the Pirates offence then exploded and produced an 8 run 6th inning to earn them the victory. Here’s Kyle Lohse on the loss…. The series will continue this afternoon however with Matt Garza going up against Edison Volquez. Scores around the NL central yesterday; the Cubs beat the Marlins 5 to 3, the Phillies beat the reds 8 to 0, and Toronto beat St. Louis 3 to 1.
NHL Playoffs continue on Saturday night with Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals. The Kings lead the best of seven series 1-0.
California Chrome will race at the Belmont Stakes on Saturday afternoon with a chance to win horse racings first Triple Crown.

The WIAA State Track Meet began in LaCrosse on Friday. Fond du Lac’s Peter Andrew was 6th in the Division One Boys Shot Put. St. Mary’s Springs’ Alan Burkhart was 14th in the Division Three 1600. For the girls, Fond du Lac’s Marissa Wustrack was 7th in the Division One Triple Jump. Fondy’s Jenny Rosenthal was 8th in the D1 Discus. St. Mary’s Springs 4×100 meter relay team of Alannah Schmitz, Melanie Schneider, Paige Case, and Liz Bohn won the D3 state championship. The meet continues today.
