  • The Denver Nuggets beat the Bucks 110-100 last night in the Mile High
    City
    .  Larry Sanders had 25 points and 12 rebounds
    in the loss.  Milwaukee opens up a six game homestand on
    Saturday night.

     

    Gary Andersen nailed down his first full recruiting class for
    the Badger football program on Wednesday. 
    The class includes 25 signees and 5 walk-ons.  The class has been ranked right around 30th
    in the nation and 4th in the Big Ten. 

     

    St. Mary’s Springs senior
    lineman Sam Schrauth signed a letter of intent to play at Division II Minnesota
    State-Mankato.  New Holstein had a pair
    of players sign on to play at Southwest
    State
    in Marshall
    Minnesota in Quinn Compton and Bobby Scherer.

     

    The Badgers lost one of their top recruiters on Wednesday as
    running backs coach Thomas Hammock left for the same position with the
    Baltimore Ravens.  The Packers also had
    interest in Hammock but were slow to move.

     

    The NFL is moving part of its Thursday night package to
    network TV.  They have reached a deal
    with CBS to simulcast 8 Thursday games of the season on both CBS and NFL
    Network. Jim Nantz and Phil Simms will handle the play-by-play.  The NFL Network will then carry the final six
    games on Thursday and a Saturday double-header in Week 16.

     

    Former Packer safety Nick Collins would like to make a
    comeback.  ESPN.com reports that the
    former Pro Bowler wants a shot in an NFL camp this year.  He hasn’t played since injuring his neck in
    Week 2 of the 2011 season.  The Packers
    released him saying they didn’t want to assume the risk of him continuing his
    career.  Collins says he’s now 100%
    healthy.

     

    About 700,000 people showed up in Seattle to celebrate the Seahawks Super Bowl
    victory yesterday.  The festivities
    included running back Marshawn Lynch throwing Skittles to the crowd during the
    parade and Russell Wilson saying the team isn’t done wining the championships.

     

    The Sochi Olympics are underway in Russia
    today.  The games will hold their opening
    ceremonies tonight.
