Another honor has been bestowed on St. Mary’s Spring running
back Ike Floyd. Wissports.net has named
him the Elroy “Crazylegs” Hirsch Award winner for the 2013 football
season. That is given annually to the
state’s top senior running back. Floyd
ran for 2238 yards and 37 touchdowns in 12 games this season.

The Detroit Tigers have traded first baseman Prince Fielder
and $30 million dollars in cash to the Texas Rangers for 2B Ian Kinsler. By trading Fielder, the Tigers will be able
to move Miguel Cabrera to first base and also free up money to resign Cy Young
winner Max Scherzer who is a free agent after next season.
