The infirmary is full as the Packers get ready for the
Cleveland Browns on Sunday at Lambeau. 
Clay Matthews, Nick Perry, James Starks, and Ryan Taylor are already
ruled out for Sunday.  Mike McCarthy say
they hope to know more about James Jones later this week as he nurses a bad
knee.  Mike Neal also sat out practice
yesterday with a shoulder injury.  Brad
Jones also didn’t participate because of his hamstring.  Defensive back Casey Hayward was
limited.  Sunday’s kickoff is set for
3:25pm on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

 

The Minnesota Vikings say that Josh Freeman will start at
quarterback on Monday night when they take on the Giants.   Reports say that Detroit’s Ndamukong Suh was fined $31,500 for
a hit placed on Browns QB Brandon Weeden on Sunday. 

 

The NFL schedule begins tonight as Arizona
hosts Seattle.  We’ll have live coverage after high school
football tonight on KFIZ.

 

Badger Athletic Director Barry Alvarez has been named to the
13 member committee that will decide which four college football teams are selected
for the new playoff system after the 2014 season.  The 13 person committee includes former
players and coaches and also former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

 

The coaches of the new Big East basketball conference have
picked Marquette
to win the league this year.  They pick Georgetown 2nd

 

Detroit
evened the American League Championship Series at 2-2 with a 7-3 win over the
Boston Red Sox on Wednesday.  Game 5 is
tonight in Detroit.  The Dodgers stayed alive in the NLCS with a
7-3 win over St. Louis.  The Cardinals still lead the series 3-2.  Game 6 is Friday night in St. Louis.

 

Week 9 of the high school football season kicks off tonight
in the area as St. Mary’s Springs hosts cross-town rival WLA.  Both teams are heading to the post-season and
you’ll hear it on KFIZ and streaming at KFIZ.com presented by BCI Burke
Company.  Coverage begins at 6:30pm with
the kickoff set for 7pm.

 

On Friday night, Fond du Lac
will host Wisconsin Rapids
for Homecoming.  Fondy needs to win to
earn a playoff bid.  You’ll also hear
that one on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.
