The LA Kings are
one victory away from the Stanley Cup after a 3-0 win over the Rangers at Madison Square Garden.  The Kings lead the best of seven series 3-0
and can close out the series with a win on Wednesday night in New York. 

 

The NBA Finals
shift to Florida tonight as Miami
hosts San Antonio.
The series is tied at 1-1.

 

The Packers get
back on the practice field today with an 11:30am workout as offseason organized
team activities continue in Green Bay.

 

WIAA State Golf

Winnebago
Lutheran’s Chris Colla is halfway to a state golf championship.  Colla fired a 4-under par 68 to take a four
shot lead into day two of the WIAA Division Two State Golf Championship at
University Ridge in Madison.  Chilton’s Alex Brandt is tied for 32^nd
in D2 after a first round 83.  In
Division Three, St. Mary’s Springs’ Patrick
Treichel shot an even par 72.  That’s
three shots off the pace set by Chippawa Falls McDonell Central’s Thomas
Longbella.  The Ledger’s Brady Sarauer is
tied for 11^th after a first round 81.

 

A pair of area
baseball teams are still alive in the WIAA Division Two Baseball playoffs.  Waupun will host Watertown Luther Prep at
10am this morning in a Division Two Sectional Semifinal.  Also in D2 Ripon plays River
Valley at Evansville 11am.  Winners will play this afternoon with a trip
to state on the line.

 

A sports radio
station in Italy reports
that Fond du Lac
native Travis Diener has announced his retirement from professional basketball
at the age of 32.  After graduating from Fond du Lac Goodrich in 2001, he had an All-American
career at Marquette.  He was a 2^nd round pick by Orlando
in the 2005 NBA Draft and played five season in the NBA with the Magic, Pacers,
and Trailblazers before heading to Italy for four seasons.
