Sports – Tuesday, May 27th, 2014

The Brewers were
one strike away from winning their series opener with Baltimore and then the wheels fell off.  Jonathan Shoop homered off of K-Rod and then Baltimore put together a
pair of a hits to tie the game at 6 in the 9th.  The homer was Shoops 2nd of the
game. Milwaukee
had a chance to win it in the bottom of the 9th with runners at 2nd
and 3rd with 1 out, but Mark Reynolds lined out to short and Elian
Herrera got doubled off of 3rd to end the inning.  The Orioles scored a run in the 10th
to pick up the 7-6 win.  The series
continues tonight.  Coverage begins at

NBA Playoffs

The Miami Heat
took a 3-1 series lead in the Eastern Conference Finals after a 102-90 win over
the Pacers on Monday night.  LeBron James
scored 32 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the win. Chris Bosh had 25.  The Heat can close out the series with a win
on Wednesday night in Indiana.  The Spurs take a 2-1 series lead into Game 4
of the Western Conference Finals tonight in Oklahoma City.

 

NHL

The Los Angeles
Kings took a 3-1 series lead in the Western Conference Finals with a 5-2
thumping of Chicago
on Monday.   The Kings can win the series
on Wednesday night in LA.  The NY Rangers
can punch their ticket into the Stanley Cup Finals with a win tonight at Montreal.  The Rangers lead the best of seven series
3-1.

 

The Packers get
back on the practice field this week with Organized Team Activities getting
underway with the full squad in attendance. 

 

UW-Whitewater
plays Emory today in the championship round of the NCAA Division Three World
Series at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton.  If the Warhawks win the title they would be
the first time to win the football, basketball, and baseball national titles in
the same season.  Whitewater needs to win
just once and Emory twice to take home the title.  The first game is at 11am this morning.
