Packers coach Mike McCarthy signed a
five year contract extension on Monday.
In his 9th season, the Packers coach has a Super Bowl title
and 4 NFC North Division Championships.
His 93 wins is 3rd only to Vince Lombardi (98) and Curly
Lambeau (212).
The Packers cut 2011 1st round pick
Derek Sherrod on Monday night to make room for fellow offensive lineman JC
Tretter. Sherrod never really recovered from breaking his leg in December
of his rookie season in
Tretter has been on IR after suffering a broken leg in training camp.

Colts 40 Giants 24
Badger running back Corey Clement has
been named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week. The sophomore ran
for 131 yards and 2 TDs in the 37-0 win over
Saturday. Fellow running back Melvin Gordon was also named one of 20
semifinalist for the Maxwell Award on Monday. That award is given
annually to college football’s top player. Gordon was also a semifinalist
last year for the award.
Badger basketball forward Frank
Kaminsky has been named a First Team Associated Press Preseason
All-American. Kaminsky is the 3rd player in Badger history to garner
that honor. (Jordan Taylor in 2011 and Michael Finley in 1994). Fellow
Badger forward Sam Dekker also received votes in the preseason survey of
basketball writers.
Brewers 3rd baseman Aramis Ramirez
accepted a mutual team option and will be back for the 2015 season. The
36-year-old hit .285 with 15 homers and 66 RBI in 133 games last season.
He will be paid $14 million dollars next season.
The
Cardinals and St. Mary’s Springs Ledgers are gearing up for Friday’s WIAA State
Quarterfinal Games. St. Mary’s Springs
will host Shiocton at Fruth Field.

Conference opener Monday night with a 57-43 win over UW Richland at home. Abby
Hilbert (WLA) led the way with 18 points, and 16 rebounds. Caroline Flood (WLA)
had 14 points, and Abbi Retzleff (
points, 6 steals.
