Brewers Let One Get Away

The Cubs scored twice in the 7th and 3 times in the 8th to steal a 6-3 win over the Brewers at a cold a blustery Wrigley Field on Tuesday night.  The Brewers scored three times in the 2nd to back starter Wily Peralta who had his good stuff in the cold.  He was charged with 3 earned runs and 6 hits in 6 and 2/3 innings of work.  One of those runs scored off of Mike Gonzalez.  John Axford threw gas on the fire again, giving up 3 earned runs in 2/3s of an inning of work stretched over the 7th and 8th.   This season Axford has recorded 10 outs, given up 9 hits and 9 earned runs.  The series wraps up tonight as Kyle Lohse takes on Kyle Feldman.  Coverage begins at 6:30pm on KFIZ

Bucks Fall

LeBron James scored 28 points as the Miami Heat beat the Bucks 94-83 in Florida on Tuesday.  Brandon Jennings had 30 to pace the Bucks.  No other Buck was in double figures.  Milwaukee is in Orlando tonight.

Marquette Transfer

Another player has decided to leave the Marquette men’s basketball program.  Freshman Jamal Ferguson has been released from his scholarship.  In 14 games last season he averaged 1.1 ppg.

 

Marian Honors

Marian University right hander BryceTaylor(Melbourne, Australia) has been named Northern Athletics Conference Pitcher of the Week after his career performance in a win over Rockford on Sunday. Taylor (4-0) went eight shutout innings and struck out a career-high 11 Regents en route to his fourth win of the season. He scattered just six hits in a 7-0 victory for the Sabres as they went on to sweep a doubleheader from Rockford at home.
