hits against Cardinal pitching. Aramis
Ramirez’s 4th inning solo shot was the team’s only offense. Matt Holliday and Jhonny Peralta homred in
the 9th off of Jim Henderson to bust open a close game. Marco Estrada took the loss while Shelby
Miller notched the victory.. The series wraps up this afternoon as Wily Peralta

The Bucks wrap up the worst

The Packers and
quarterback Matt Flynn have agreed to a contract. Flynn rallied the Packers from a 16 point
deficit against the Vikings and then went 2-2 as a starter while Aaron Rodgers
recovered from a broken collar bone last season. Flynn’s deal comes just as he was set to
visit the New York Giants. Flynn and
Scott Tolzien are expected to battle to back-up Rodgers this upcoming season.
Brett Favre’s
return to
may be coming sooner than some had though.
ESPN’s Rob Demovsky reports that the Packers actually wanted to bring
back Favre last season for a game.
Packers CEO Mark Murphy said that they couldn’t get a date to work last

It’s a big day today for
high school athletics in the state of
as member schools will vote on whether a multiplier should be used to determine
where private schools are placed for postseason play. The proposed amendment would multiple a
private school’s enrollment by 1.65 and use that number as enrollment to place
them into playoff divisions. If it passes most privates would be bumped up a
division for the playoffs and some schools in football would move up two
divisions. Members will also vote on
whether to take the formations of conferences away from the WIAA and into the
hands of the schools themselves.
