SSM Health partners to host organ, tissue donation events, accepting used eyeglass donations

SSM Health Greater Fond du Lac is hosting an educational tabling event at its three hospitals the week of November 27 in partnership with the Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin (LEBW) and UW Organ and Tissue Donation (UW OTD) to raise awareness and educate our shared communities on the importance of organ, eye, and tissue donation.   

In addition, Deb Toth, SSM Health Advanced Care planning specialist, will be available to answer any questions about end-of-life wishes, and should donation be a part of those wishes; how to make sure those wishes are honored.   

Attendees will be able to: 

  • Help others by donating their used eyeglasses for recycling. 
  • Get answers to their questions about organ, eye, and tissue donation. 
  • Talk to SSM Health Advanced Care team members to discuss end-of-life wishes. 

Dates are scheduled at the Ripon Community Hospital lobby (845 Parkside Street) from 11:30 am – 1 pm on Monday, November 27; Fond du Lac Regional Clinic lobby (420 E. Division Street) from 9 – 11 am on Wednesday, November 29 and from 11 am – 1 pm at the St. Agnes Hospital Creekside Café (430 E. Division Street), and Waupun Memorial Hospital Café (620 W. Brown Street) from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm on Thursday, November 30.
