State Senator Says Joint Finance Committee Is “Stonewalling”

Legislative Democrats want the state’s Joint Finance committee to release homelessnes relief funding in the state budget. Republican leadership on the committee has been sitting on that funding since it was signed into law, and State Senator Jon Erpenbach says the J F C has stonewalled state agencies on getting the funding.

“UW being one, this being another, where people need to go back in front of Finance to ask for the money. It’s really frustrating.”

Advocacy groups say that funding could have done a lot to help people during the winter of 2019, and during the pandemic when many were evicted from their homes.
