Suspect Caught Following High-Speed Chase In FDL County

A 17-year old Oshkosh male was arrested Tuesday afternoon following a traffic stop that turned into a high-speed chase.

FDL County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted a traffic stop Tuesday, November 9th, 2021 at approximately 2:00pm, on a motor vehicle for a speed violation on highway 151 near Townline Road in the township of Fond du Lac.

After initially pulling over, the operator of the vehicle did not comply with the Sheriff’s Deputy to roll the window down. After a brief verbal interaction, the suspect vehicle fled northbound on highway 151 at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle continued northbound onto CTH D and continued to disregard the Deputy’s lights and sirens. The pursuit reached speeds of 100 miles per hour, and the suspect vehicle passed multiple vehicles on the shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle turned onto Rolling Meadows Dr. and eventually crashed into a ditch behind a business on Rolling Meadows. The suspect fled on foot and was eventually apprehended by law enforcement personnel.

The suspect is being held on charges of Felony Eluding, 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and additional traffic citations.

The Fond du Lac Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol and the City of Fond du Lac Police Department in the pursuit, which spanned 4.7 miles. There were no injuries or property damage as a result of the pursuit, other than the suspect vehicle.
