Suspect in overnight Kwik Trip robbery arrested minutes after robbery took place

City of Fond du Lac Police are investigating a robbery that occurred overnight.

At about 3:30 AM Monday, July 15, 2024, a man robbed the Kwik Trip at the corner of Main and Johnson Street in the City of Fond du Lac.

Witnesses say the man never presented a weapon but he took the money from the registers and then fled north on Main Street. Police flooded the area to search for the man and found him on Bank Street, just west of Main Street. When the officer attempted to make contact with the man, he started running westbound.

The foot pursuit was short lived however as the suspect tripped less than a block into the chase. The suspect claimed he broke his ankle and a City of Fond du Lac Ambulance was called, but the man again attempted to run away while being evaluated and was quickly apprehended and then transferred to the jail.
