Suspicious item “disposed of” by Milwaukee Bomb Squad

On Saturday January 17, 2026, at 10:06 am the Kohler Police Department was notified of a suspicious item in the cart corral in front of the Target Store located at 4085 State Highway 28 in the Village of Kohler.

As a result, the north end of the Deartrace Shopping Center was evacuated until the item could be removed by the Milwaukee Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit.

This incident is still under investigation by the Kohler Police department.

The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Dept. Sheboygan Falls Police Dept. the Milwaukee Police Dept.~ Hazardous Device Unit, FBI~ Milwaukee Field Office, and Orange Cross Ambulance, assisted the Kohler Police and Fire Department with this incident
