Taxpayers Make Get A Break On FDL School Taxes
Some numbers still have to come in, but it looks like taxpayers in the Fond du Lac School District will be paying less on their school taxes this year. District Superintendent Jim Sebert says their official enrollment count will be this Friday, but they estimate they will have 182 more students than last year. He says they believe they will have 7,397 students. That’s important in determining state aid. He says they are still awaiting final figures on property values as well, but with an increase in state aid and enrollment up it looks like the mill rate and property tax levy will both be down by 4.7 percent. The School Board held a public hearing for the proposed budget yesterday. The board will be asked to approve the budget and tax levy next month. The projected mill rate is $9.41 per
