Teens encouraged to take part in basketball skills competition

The Fond du Lac Noon Optimist Club is seeking area youth to participate in a basketball skills competition Saturday March 8th, 2025.

The Tri-Star Basketball Competition is open to Fond du Lac County boys and girls ages eight to thirteen and is free of charge. No pre-registration is required, but a parent or guardian must attend with the child.

This year’s annual contest will be held on Saturday, March 8 at the Fond du Lac YMCA. Registration takes place at 8:00 AM with the competition starting at 9:00, and wrapping up by Noon.

During the competition, youth are scored on their dribbling ability, as well as passing, and shooting. There are a total of twelve brackets with youth competing against others the same age and gender as them.

The top three finishers in each bracket are awarded trophies with the First-Place winner in each bracket advancing to the WINUM District Tri-Star Competition on Saturday, April 5th at Bessie Allen Middle School in North Fond du Lac. The Noon Optimist Club will pay the entry fee for the winners to participate in that event.
