The Catholic Community Foundation awards $10,000 to Fond du Lac’s Holy Family Warming Shelter

The Holy Family Warming Shelter is excited to announce that it recently received a $10,000 grant from The Catholic Community Foundation to support its work of caring for the most vulnerable in the area.

Through the collaboration of many community partners, the Holy Family Warming Shelter opened in November 2023 to offer emergency shelter to single adults experiencing homelessness during the frigid winter months. Each night, the shelter welcomes up to 30 individuals, providing them with warm, nutritious meals, a place to sleep, safety, and connections to local resources. In addition, guests of the warming shelter also receive winter weather gear and other items donated by the community.

The $10,000 grant from The Catholic Community Foundation will be used to continue to provide care to those in need and support the overall operations of the shelter.

“We are thrilled to receive this generous grant from The Catholic Community Foundation. One of the goals of the Foundation is to build community to help those suffering from poverty. This aligns perfectly with our mission at the Holy Family Warming Shelter, and we are grateful that they have chosen to support the important work done by our shelter staff and volunteers to care for those experiencing homelessness in Fond du Lac County,” Holy Family Catholic Community Pastor, Very Rev. Ryan J Pruess, said.

The Catholic Community Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) which supports philanthropy in Southeastern Wisconsin through charitable funds and investment management of parishes, schools, and Catholic organizations.
