They Are Thrilled He Is Back
The Fond du Lac Fire Department held a welcome home ceremony for Lieutenant Shawn Kneeland Monday morning. The Master Sergeant for the Wisconsin Air National Guard spent more than eight months deployed overseas. It was his fourth active military deployment. He has had increased responsibility each time he has gone. This time Kneeland served as an Assistant Fire Chief as part of his duties. Fond du Lac Fire Chief Peter O’Leary feels Kneeland learned a lot from that experience and will be able to share that through his duties with the department. Chief O’Leary also believes that Kneeland’s every day experiences with the department were a benefit to the National Guard while he was deployed. Kneeland’s assignments were in Mosul, Iraq, Syria, and other locations in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar. (Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue photo).
