Three Injured in Motorcycle Crashes in FDL County

Three people sustained injuries in a set of motorcycle
crashes in the Town of Osceola Saturday afternoon. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s
Deputies along with Campbellsport Ambulance, The Campbellsport Fire Department
and City of Fond du Lac Paramedics responded to the scene on County Highway F,
east of Highway 45, just before 3 pm. Deputies found that groups of motorcycles
were traveling east on Highway F when one operator lost control on a curve and entered
the south shoulder and ditch line. That driver, a 55-year-old woman from
Sheboygan sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash. A nine-year-old
female passenger was ejected from the motorcycle onto the road when it overturned.
She was taken to St. Agnes Hospital where she was treated and released. The
driver was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

A second motorcycle overturned after witnessing the first
crash. A 47-year-old man from Saukville was driving the motorcycle and laid the
bike down on the road to avoid crashing into the first motorcycle. The driver
was not injured, but a 54-year-old woman from Milwaukee who was a passenger suffered
serious, but not life-threatening injuries. She was taken to St. Agnes Hospital
for treatment. Neither person was wearing a helmet in the crash.

After the first series of crashes, a secondary crash
involving another motorcycle happened at the same location. A 49-year-old man
from Sheboygan, who was not part of the original group, attempted to slow down
for the first accident scene but braked too abruptly, which caused him to lose
control of his motorcycle. He was not injured.
