Three killed in two separate crashes within a mile and 24 hours of each other

For the second day in a row a fatal crash closes the same stretch of I-43 in Manitowoc County.

Yesterday we reported that on Christmas day around 2:45 PM, Fire and rescue as well as officers were called to a crash on I-43 near Fisher Creek Road in the south east part of the county. That crash killed two Green Bay women and closed the southbound lanes of the interstate for nearly seven hours while crews worked the scene and reconstructed what happened.

A second crash happened about 18 hours later and less than a mile from where the first crash occurred. At about 8:30 yesterday morning, two cars collided killing a 19-year-old man from Sheboygan.

That crash closed the same stretch of highway for another three hours while crews worked the scene.

No other information has been released on the crashes.
