Three people taken into custody after trying to elude police in Winnebago and Fond du Lac Counties

Law enforcement in Fond du Lac county assisted the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office apprehend three people in a vehicle that failed to stop for a Winnebago County deputy last night.
Initially the deputy attempted to pull the southbound vehicle over on I-41 around 9:30 last night for expired registration, but the driver refused to yield. Winnebago County has a no pursuit policy so the officer let the vehicle go. A short time later the same vehicle was spotted driving south, entering Fond du Lac County on Lakeshore Drive.
Fond du Lac County Deputies, along with the assistance of City of Fond du Lac Police, North Fond du Lac Police and Wisconsin State Patrol saturated the area looking for the vehicle.
After about 15 minutes, a deputy with the sheriff’s office spotted a man and woman walking on Lincoln Road, near where the vehicle in question was found abandoned. They were detained at the scene and told officers a third person from the vehicle, another woman, took off north through the fields from the car.
Law enforcement utilized drones and k9s to assist in searching for the woman, but it was ultimately her I-phone that gave her location away as police were able to track it’s location. She was captured near the dead end of White Pine Road, which was about a mile north of where she initially left the vehicle.
While no official press release has been issued at this time, scanner chatter revealed that about 15 grams of cocaine was found as part of a search of either the vehicle or the individuals.
