TJ Maxx sold phone charger recalled for fire hazard

More than 13,000 wireless chargers sold at TJ MAXX and Marshals nationwide are being recalled due to a fire hazard.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission warns that Isla Rae magnetic wireless chargers could explode, posing fire and burn risks. Consumers are urged to stop using the chargers immediately and register for a full refund.

The units sold for about $15 and have the model number “RM5PBM” found on the side.

Consumers are told not to throw out the recalled lithium-ion battery or device in their household trash, recycling or used battery recycling boxes , saying recalled lithium-ion batteries must be disposed of differently than other batteries, because they present a greater risk of fire.
