Tornado damage reported in Kaukauna from Tuesday’s storms

The National Weather Service in Green Bay says that damage in the city of Kaukauna from Tuesday nights storms was caused by a tornado and not straight line winds.

A damage survey done by the weather service concludes A tornado developed along Buchanan Road southwest of the Village of Kaukauna, snapping trees and producing isolated structural damage to the garages of a couple homes. The tornado tracked northeast producing scattered tree damage mainly with broken branches and pockets of uprooted trees. Just before the tornado lifted in Central Park along the Fox River, it produced structural damage to the roof of an apartment building along Bicentennial Court where a large healthy tree was snapped at this location as well. The EF1 rated tornado was on the ground for 4 minutes from 8:57 to 9:01 PM and travelled 1.36 miles.

This brings the total tornado count for the state on Tuesday to 6. Two tornadoes also touched down in Marathon County, and one each in TREMPEALEAU, Clark and Buffalo Counties.
