Tornado Sirens Blare Late Last Night… But No Storms Were In The Area

Residence of Waupun were awakened overnight by tornado sirens but no storms were in the area at the time.

According to the Waupun Fire Department, 2 of the city’s 4 sirens had gone off between 11 and 11:30 last night. The Fond du Lac County Communications Center acknowledged the report of the sirens and stated they were malfunctioning and that the area was not under a tornado warning.

According to Waupun Fire Department’s Facebook page, they were in contact with the siren’s manufacturer and were troubleshooting the problem.
