Traffic lights on 9th and Linden to be replaced with stop signs

The Fond du Lac Department of Public Works would like to share with the community information regarding the traffic signals at West Ninth Street and Linden Street.

Prior to the reconstruction of west Ninth Street, the city hired a traffic engineer to evaluate traffic counts and pedestrian crossing as it related to the adjacent elementary school. The report concluded the intersection does not warrant traffic light signalization. Currently the existing traffic lights at the intersection flash red for Linden Street and yellow on West Ninth Street. The City is invested in the safety of pedestrian traffic and will install push button rectangular rapid flashing beacons.

After pedestrian improvements are made to the intersection, stop signs will be installed on Linden Street and west Ninth Street traffic will flow through the intersection.
