Traffic Step Leads to Drug Bust

A traffic stop in Fond du Lac County leads to a drug bust. Just after six last night, a Sheriff’s Office K9 handler was patrolling Interstate 41 and observed a registration violation on a vehicle that was traveling northbound on the interstate near Lost Arrow Road. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. It was occupied by a 34-year-old man from Chicago. During the stop the K-9 handler deployed his police K-9 for an open-air sniff of the vehicle. The police K-9 alerted to the odor of illegal narcotics coming from the vehicle. It was then searched, and deputies located approximately 3.1 pounds (1,408 grams) of methamphetamine. The suspect was taken into custody.
