Tree removal prompts closure of east Division Street Thursday morning

UPDATE: This story has been changed to reflect the change in days from Wednesday to Thursday for the tree removal.

Commuters on east Division Street will see some interruptions in traffic patterns Thursday, August 29, 2024, as a private contractor removes three trees along the street.

Treeo’s Tree Removal Service will start removing a large tree on east Division Street between Olcott Street and Park Avenue that will require the whole street to be closed for about an hour starting at about 9 AM. Once the tree is down, the street will be restricted to one lane with a flagger until the downed tree is removed and the area cleaned up.

Then two more trees being removed will require the full closure of east Division Street between Park Avenue and Algoma Street for about an hour. Like the first tree, traffic will also be restricted to one lane once the tree is downed.

The city didn’t mention why the trees were being removed.
