Trial for Fond du Lac Homicide set to start today

It took all day and around 80 potential jurors to find a jury of 12 people yesterday for the murder case of Parise Larry Jr. in Fond du Lac County Court.

Larry is facing numerous felony charges including 1st-Degree Intentional Homicide and attempted 1st-Degree Intentional Homicide in a shooting that took place at the Maplewood Commons apartment complex on Fond du Lac’s south side, May of 2023.

Larry was 14 at the time when he and then 17 year old Antonio Johnston opened fire with a gun, striking several people. An 18-year-old male, A 20-year-old female, and a 49-year-old male that was inside an upper level apartment.

The female, Tatyana Zech was killed in the shooting.

Both males ran from the scene. Larry turned himself in a few days later while Johntson was captured in Chicago a few months later. Johnston has since been convicted in the case and is awaiting sentencing.

Larry has pleaded not guilty to all charges and his trial is scheduled to start today.
