Two charged with Fond du Lac murder bound over for trial

The two Fond du Lac people charged in connection to a stabbing homicide in the City of Fond du Lac in February will stand trial for the death.
The two had their preliminary hearings in front of Judge Andrew Christenson Friday, April 5, 2024, in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court where he said “It is probable that a felony was committed by each from the testimony.”
According to the complaint, 20-year-old Annaka Trudell made a plan to rob Ashley Calo of West Bend of drugs, so she and 21-year-old Dawson Miller made a plan to pretend to want to buy drugs from Calo, but not pay for them. The group met in the parking lot of Anytime Fitness near the intersection of north Macy and west Follett Street on the night of the 13th.
Miller allegedly told Trudell to have a knife with her in the event the robbery went bad.
During the altercation, Trudell ended up stabbing Calo several times, then ran back to the car where Miller was waiting and the two fled. Calo then got in her car and attempted to drive off but passed out due to her wounds and her car drove up on some bushes behind a north Main Street business where officers found her unconscious. She was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
A trial date has yet to be set for the two.
