Two deaths in Winnebago County plane crash identified

Names of the two people killed on the EAA grounds in a plane crash on Monday, July 22, 2024, have been released.

While official identification of the two has yet to be done, investigation into the crash shows that 37-year-old Sean Tommervik of Philadelphia, PA and 32-year-old James Sullivan of Brooklyn, NY were the two that were supposed to be in the plane when it crashed.

According to flight history, the single engine, homebuilt plane left from a New Jersey airport earlier in the day and stopped briefly at the Hartford Municipal Airport in Washington County before making it’s final leg to AirVenture where it crashed on approach just south of the airport.
