Milwaukee man in custody after high speed Fond du Lac County pursuit

A man is in custody Monday morning, December 9, 2024, after leading Fond du Lac County law enforcement on a high speed pursuit.

At about 4 AM a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputy observed a red 2003 Cadillac Seville speeding north on I-41 near Lost Arrow Road. The deputy initiated a traffic stop for the reckless driving, but the vehicle continued north at speeds of around 100 mph. A State Patrol Trooper in the area also got involved in the chase at this time.

The driver exited east into the City of Fond du Lac on Johnson Street and then turned north on Peters Avenue.

At Scott Street the driver turned west and then North on Rolling Meadows Drive.

The vehicle failed to negotiate the curve south of CTH OO sliding into the steep shoulder where it became immobile. Once the vehicle was stopped a high-risk traffic stop was conducted. The driver and passenger were taken into custody without further incident.

According to scanner traffic, the driver, a 37-year-old from Milwaukee, was revoked for being a habitual traffic offender, had two warrants with Milwaukee County and the Department of Corrections, was on probation and was possibly driving under the influence. Dispatch also indicated he had one prior OWI Conviction. He was arrested for felony fleeing and eluding, reckless endangering safety, felon in possession of a firearm, and operating while impaired.

The passenger was identified as a 35-year-old male from Milwaukee. He was initially taken into custody then released without any charges.

One county squad car was damaged while en route to the pursuit.
