Two Injured when Motorcycle & Truck Collide in Town of Friendship
Two people were injured when a truck and a motorcycle
collided in the Town of Friendship Sunday afternoon. The Fond du Lac County
Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened just before 4:30 pm on Lakeshore Road near
Cemetery Road. Witnesses to the crash had called 9-1-1 and told dispatchers the
driver of the motorcycle was pinned underneath the cycle and was unconscious.
Investigators determined a 58-year-old man from Fond du Lac
was driving the truck north on Lakeshore Road and had slowed to make a left-hand
turn into a driveway. The man did not see the motorcycle coming south on the
road and turned into its path, when the two vehicles collided. The driver of
the motorcycle, a 47-year-old Fond du Lac man, was taken to St. Agnes Hospital
for treatment of Critical Injuries. A passenger on the cycle, a 37-year-old
woman, was airlifted by ThedaStar Helicopter to ThedaClark Regional Medical
Center in Neenah with serious injuries. The driver of the pickup was not
injured. Names of those involved are not being released at this time.
Assisting at the scene were the Wisconsin State Patrol, Van
Dyne Fire Department & First Responders, and Ambulance Services from the
City of Fond du Lac and Village of North Fond du Lac.
