Two Men Facing Charges For Washington County Car Break-ins, Tied To National Gang

Two men from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, have been charged after prosecutors say they broke into vehicles and stole people’s identities in Washington County.

Sheriff’s officials say they’re part of a gang doing this across the country.

The men were caught breaking into cars in the Town of Addison, which is less than a half hour south of Fond du Lac.

On Saturday, June 10, deputies were called to a park for reports of multiple car break-ins. Two people were arrested shortly after during a traffic stop. Inside the vehicle, sheriff’s officials said deputies found driver’s licenses, credit cards, and checkbooks located from victims as far away as Colorado, Arizona, New Jersey, as well as from local Washington County victims.

The two men are tied to the “Felony Lane Gang” out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a criminal organization dedicated to “smash grabs” and identity theft.

Officials say they group moves quick. Investigation shows the 2 men were in Colorado just 2 days earlier.

The sheriff’s office said the men are facing more than 50 charges related to identity theft, but that there could be more.

Authorities are reminding people not to leave valuables and personal identifying objects in cars.
