Two Teens In Custody After Stealing Car – Leading Officers On High Speed Pursuit

Two teens that stole a vehicle from Waupaca County were taken into custody in Fond du Lac County Saturday after involving several law enforcement agencies in a high speed pursuit.
At approximately 6:00 PM, the Fond du Lac County Communications Center was notified by the Wisconsin State Patrol that a Trooper was in pursuit of the stolen vehicle and was entering Fond du Lac County on Hwy 41 southbound from Winnebago County.
The vehicle was occupied by a 16 and 17-year-old, who stole the vehicle and fled the Rawhide Ranch, located in southeast Waupaca County.
The Trooper terminated the pursuit just as it entered Fond du Lac County on Highway 41.
Officials in Waupaca County was able to ping the stolen vehicle’s location and a Sergeant with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle on County Highway
TC near County Highway M. The Sergeant followed the vehicle westbound on TC until other squad cars were able to get in position. Once enough squads were in place,
they attempted to box in the stolen vehicle in on TC near Highway 49.
The driver was able to avoid the box-in maneuver and accelerated at a high rate of speed southbound on Highway 49 towards Waupun with the officers now in pursuit.
A Dodge County Deputy and two Waupun Police Officers were able to successfully deploy tire deflation devices on the stolen vehicle deflating all four tires.
As the vehicle entered the City of Waupun, the driver lost control of the car striking another vehicle.
Both occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody without incident.
The 17 year old was transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail and is being held on charges stemming from the pursuit and the 16 year old who was driving the stolen car was transported to Fond du Lac County’s Juvenile Detention Center for his involvement.
