Two People From Fond du Lac Dead Following Hwy. 151 Accident
An early Saturday morning accident in Fond du Lac County has left two people from Fond du Lac dead.
The Wisconsin State Patrol had shut down access to Hwy. 151 north, at the intersection of Cty. Hwy. WH, for nearly six hours following a one-vehicle accident that occurred just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday (2/26/2022).
Deputies arrived to find a vehicle, that had been traveling north on Hwy. 151, that had left the roadway, striking a tree.
Two individuals who had been occupants of the vehicle were found to be deceased. They were identified as a 41-year-old male from Fond du Lac and a 34-year-old female from Fond du Lac. A third occupant was identified as a 37-year-old male from Fond du Lac. The surviving occupant received serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
Preliminary investigation indicates that alcohol and speed were contributing factors to the crash. Hwy 151 was closed for approximately 6 hours. The crash continues to be under investigation by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.
Assisting at the scene were the Wisconsin State Patrol, Calumet Fire Department and First Responders, Mt. Calvary Ambulance, First Responders, and Fire Department.
